Space Sweepers Movie Download from South Korea on Netflix Science Fiction Adventure (org. title Seungriho). However, although this Netflix movie is a South Korean creation, it has a rather international appeal and throughout the film, there are different languages spoken. People use a translator system in the year 2092, much as in Altered Carbon, so you only communicate in your native language.
South Korean films have been synonymous for years with gore horror, fantastic dreams, picturesque periods, and bad romance in the knee in my head. Science fiction movies in space are a Hollywood thing. A few excellent examples of well-made sci-fi movies are from Interstellar to The Martian and 2019’s Ad Astra. However, it instantly attracted my eye when director Jo Sung-hee revealed that he was putting out a space sci-fi, Space Sweepers. The first science fiction stars from South Korea are Song Joong-ki, Kim Tae-ri, Jin Seon-kyu, Yoo Hae-jin, and Richard Armitage.
Space Sweepers watch online on Netflix
Space Sweepers’ first and last half-hours, Jo Sung-latest Hee’s Netflix movie, has some of the best, most enjoyable space action we’re likely to see this year in a movie. It’s got a bit of a dilemma, though: there’s another hour-plus movie in between those chunks that can’t really determine what it wants to be until it’s almost too late. Space Sweepers movie download and also available on Netflix.
Ship pilot Tae-ho (Song Joong-ki), wild engineer Tiger Park (Jin Seon-kyu), and their snarky robot friend Bubs (voiced by Yoo Hae-jin) after an explosive introduction to the ragtag crew of the rescue ship Victory-devil-may-care Captain Jang (Kim Tae-ri), Space Sweepers slams the brakes on its momentum with all the power of the huge harpooning cables that Victory uses to catch space junk fl fl jin.
Space Sweepers Movie Storyline
The Space Sweepers of Jo Sung-hee, South Korea’s first big-budget space adventure, was scheduled to hit cinemas last summer, but it fell to Netflix to come in and save the day after the pandemic scuppered those plans.
The film is full of alien dogfights, robot sidekicks, and evil megalomaniacs, though Earth’s destiny hangs in the balance precariously. But its quest to bring Korean cinema up to speed in the game of science fiction is so burdened that it sounds more like an exhaustive committee-designed box-ticking exercise than the daring realization of a cohesive cinematic vision.
Space Sweepers Movie Release date
As of February 5, 2021, Space Sweepers is out worldwide on Netflix. At first, the crew merely focuses on collecting enough money, whatever that entails to each member, to buy their way to fulfillment. Former government agent Tae-ho (Song Joong-ki, a regular partner with director Jo) is tasked with locating and discovering the missing body of a member of the family that he missed in an accident years ago. He’s being paid with completion, effectively. The calm and arrogant Captain Jang, Kim Tae-ri of The Handmaiden fame, whose appetite for vengeance is kept ambiguous until late in the film, has a little less to learn about. In the meantime, as former gang boss Tiger Park, Jin Sun-kyu (The Good, The Poor and the Weird) gets to have fun mugging, actually finding the blue-collar role humiliating and trying to buy his way out. By boasting about how many hands he cut off in his youth, he relives his glory days.
The interplay between these characters is the saving grace of the film, and the reason for watching it is always still a pleasure, even though its designation as “the first of its kind” eventually becomes an albatross around its neck. While the characters and the situation are familiar, when watching the antics of the misfit crew, the movie is always at its finest, as they get into outrageous fistfights over low-stakes poker games or give each other makeovers. Ironically, Space Sweepers is better as a hangout comedy, considering its allegedly exalted reputation.
Space Sweepers 2 Movie Review
For Netflix, Space Sweepers movie download could be a big streaming success, but what’s the current status of Space Sweepers 2? The 2021 South Korean space opera, directed by Jo Sung-hee, is the first of its kind, following a group of robotic junk collectors defending a human-like robot from a greedy business mogul. Space Sweepers has not yet been a major critical success since its release in February 2021, but the viewing figures will eventually decide when a sequel is made.
Crew men onboard the craft Victory capture and trade space debris in 2092 in Space Sweepers. Song Joong-ki as Tae-ho, Kim Tae-ri as Captain Jang, Jin Seon-kyu as Tiger Park (Jin Seon-kyu), and Yoo Hae-jin as the voice of Bubs, a Victory robot, are part of the cast portraying the junkers. Meanwhile, after creating a new habitat for mankind on Mars, James Sullivan (Richard Armitage) prepares a second space revolution. Specifically, to obliterate planet Earth, he hopes to use an android called Dorothy (Park Ye-rin) and thereby make his Eden more desirable. The crew members search for possible customers when establishing a bond with the little “fart machine” as Dorothy turns up on the vessel Triumph.
Trailer on Space Sweepers
Space Sweepers has traces of the earlier TV show “Firefly,” which was followed by a renegade crew that sought to scavenge their lives from space waste and were on the wrong side of a recent war and suffered as a result.
The “Space Sweepers” trailer also seems to have eye-popping graphics similar to “Ready Player One” (a 2018 film based on the same name’s 2011 book), which showcases an apocalyptic world in which through video games most people flee their life.
Science fiction stories Space Sweepers
Science fiction has long been the genre of fantasy, where novel thoughts and theories are created and discussed, but it has very little to tell considering how much occurs in Space Sweepers.
Unlike in Frant Gwo’s superior, though not entirely new, The Roaming Planet, the ecological crisis facing the Earth is rarely discussed. No-nonsense Koreans are Jo’s good guys, the bad guys are untrustworthy outsiders, and everything else is only a lonely space where his crew re-enacts George Lucas, Ridley Scott, and Neill Blomkamp’s dreams, rather than making any of their own.

Jo Sung-hee is the director of Space Sweepers, and he also directed Song Joong-2012 Ki’s fantasy thriller, A Werewolf Child. If you love horror movies, it’s definitely worth checking out. Jo Sung-hee is trying something really new this time – and it works!
I love adventure-themed movies, and I love sci-fi, so I ticked two big boxes for Space Sweepers. With a runtime of 2 hours and 16 minutes, it is a little too long. I don’t really believe, though, that much might (or should) have been left out. South Korean movies do seem to be very character-driven, and there is no exception to this sci-fi movie.
