The fact that characters die is one of the more thrilling aspects of The Suicide Squad. Most superhero films avoid dealing a lethal blow in order to bring the character back in a subsequent sequel, but Task Force X writer/director James Gunn wasn’t so picky. It didn’t matter if the character appeared in the 2016 film Suicide Squad or was played by a well-known actor; everyone was fair game.
At the film’s conclusion, it appears that Peacemaker (John Cena) will not be among the lucky survivors. Peacemaker is shot by Bloodsport after murdering Rick Flag (Joel Kinnaman) and attempting to kill Ratcatcher 2 (Daniela Melchior) (Idris Elba). When Starro emerges, the whole Jotunheim reactor collapses on Peacemaker’s body. Despite this, he lives. Peacemaker is resting in a hospital bed in a post-credits scene, and a couple of Waller’s cronies require him on a mission to rescue the world.

About The Suicide Squad Movie Release Date
Unlike many other blockbusters, The Suicide Squad will be released in theaters and on HBO Max in the United States on August 5, which also happens to be Gunn’s birthday. Fans in the United Kingdom are in for a treat, as the film will be released in theaters on July 30, a week before it opens in the United States. HBO Max isn’t accessible in the UK, therefore it’ll only be available in theaters.

The cast seems aware of the film they’re in, and they seem to enjoy the hard-edged banter that occurs in between huge action moments. Unfortunately, not all of that downtime is created equal; although it’s important to give the viewer a chance to breathe, some of the in-between scenes feel like fluff that might have benefited from snappier dialogue.

The Squad consists of 17 members, each of them is a ridiculous-sounding powerful person, ranging from Polka-Dot Man to The Detachable Kid, whose arms fly around in a disembodied condition. Gunn reminds me of an excitable 8-year-old who ate too much chocolate and then went outside with his action toys to throw rocks at them.
